‘A Blood-Soaked, Totalitarian Death Cult’: National Security Expert Explains Why You Should Fear the Muslim Brotherhood

Jul. 22, 2013 8:30am

Considering the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East, Erick Stakelbeck’s new book, “The Brotherhood: America’s Next Great Enemy,” provides a fascinating lens into the Muslim Brotherhood’s history, contemporary power structures — and the level to which the journalist and national security expert believes that the Obama administration has empowered the group.

In an e-mail interview over the weekend, Stakelbeck answered some of TheBlaze’s most burning questions about the Brotherhood and why he chose to pen such a fascinating book. (Read More)

An Economy Ruled By Corruption Cannot Survive

By Neal Asbury

Transparency International just released its Global Corruption Barometer 2013, which draws on a survey of more than 114,000 respondents in 107 countries. It addresses people’s direct experiences with bribery and details their views on corruption in the main institutions in their countries. It also provides insights into people’s willingness to stop corruption.

The survey found that the three most corrupt nations were Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia. No surprises here. China ranked 80th as the world’s least corrupt whereas the United States ranked 19th. This means there were 79 countries where the perception of corruption was less than in China and 18 countries where the perception of corruption was less than in the United States.

But before we celebrate, the survey found that 76 percent of people in the United States thought that political parties were affected by corruption. That’s not good for anyone.

America should be setting an example around the world about our sense of fair play. So how can our government preach free enterprise when our own people think its leaders are corrupt?

Some of the Most Controversial Criticisms of America from the Woman Who Could Become Our Next U.N. Ambassador

By

As the Senate prepares for confirmation hearings Wednesday to decide whether Samantha Power will be the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, there are some controversial criticisms of America from her past that may be called into question.

Power, a former journalist turned political activist, once connected some of the tactics in the U.S. war on terror to French military support for the Hutu militia, which killed 800,000 people in the Rwandan genocide. She also has called Americans “stingy on foreign aid,” declared that the U.S. should apologize for slavery, and even made indirect references comparing U.S. involvement in the world to that of Nazi Germany.

At a 2002 discussion of her book at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Power questioned the U.S. cooperation with other countries in the war on terror, saying “we’re about to partner with regimes that if they’re not committing genocide they are certainly committing systematic atrocities against their people.”

“Will somebody else write a book about that and say that we abetted the Russian genocide against the Chechens because we were fighting a war on terror and needed Putin on our side? Maybe. But we now because we’re living in the time understand our mindset and why we’re doing it. I don’t think we should excuse it. I think we should change our policy.”

Once-Mighty Detroit Becomes Biggest US Municipal Bankruptcy

By Paul Scicchitano

The city of Motown and American car legends filed for bankruptcy protection in federal court on Thursday as Michigan’s Republican Governor insisted it was the only tonic for “60 years of decline.”

Detroit is about $18 billion in debt.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who angered unions by signing a Right to Work law late last year, said he authorized the bankruptcy after receiving a recommendation to do so from Kevyn Orr, the city’s emergency manager earlier this week and meeting with him on Wednesday.

“This was a difficult decision but it’s clearly the right decision in my view because there were no other viable alternatives,” Snyder told reporters after Thursday’s filing. “If you look at Detroit and you consider the situation, we have a great city, but a city that’s been going downhill for the last 60 years.”

The Motor City is the largest U.S. city to file for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 9, surpassing Stockton, Calif., which filed in 2012.

The Detroit Free Press ran a headline in its online edition that said, “Detroit Files for Chapter 9 Bankruptcy Amid Staggering Debts.”

We Can Expect by 2040-Will Blow Your Mind

It’s time President Barack Obama asked Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over his unprecedented “willingness to disregard the law,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told Megyn Kelly on Thursday.

The conservative senator said the Department of Justice, and the Obama administration as a whole, has not respected the Bill of Rights in regards to the multiple scandals that have occurred under the administration.

    Secession / Revolution /
    Oh Yes we can!!

    DAMN good show!

    Revolt or Perish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Reid says:

Tickled you like the show, SUA–and thanks for commenting. Holder and Obama are two peas in a pod (and as X clearly related and substantiated, peas in a pod with virtually all world leaders). Holder will never resign, Obama will never ask him to–the are cay buddies. Besides–way too good. Trials and convictions would be better, and more permanent. But that still leave the big “civilizational” problems X so aptly described. What are your thoughts on that?

      • Robert C says:

Reid, I read a book in 1999 titled “Civil War 2” by Tom Chittum. there are so many parallels of the story line of Civil War II and X’s conclusion its errie! X spoke of historical trends and thats what facinated me the most about his conclusions and Chittums warning/stoy line. Chittum has traveled the world as a mercenary, and as a Veitnam veteran. He has seen 3rd world nations decay into anarchy and sees the current US goverment heading down the same road. PLEASE Credit Amazon for this short Bio “Thomas W. Chittum was a rifleman in the United States Army in Vietnam in 1965 and 1966, a rifleman in the Rhodesian Territorials in the early Seventies, and a rifleman in the Croatian Army in 1991 and 1992. He was a computer programmer for most of his adult life. He is now a writer and lives in rural New Jersey. -”
If this books sounds pessimistic, it is. It is also a warning to America and the International Elite who are creating the conditions for this race war: affirmative action, racial politics, blatant discrimination against the majority whites,
destruction of the working class, gun control, and the feudalisation of society through ethnic “tiering” and annhilation of the Bill of Rights. Chittum predicts this to begin about 2020 or so. He believes ethnic riots in Los Angeles or a city with a large black population during the summer will be the spark. The USA will degenerate into anarchy shortly after this as the Federal government seeks to regain order. Not a pretty picture.

This book is a warning, so prepare yourself.

Mr Reid, get a copy and review the check list in the back of Civil War II, we as a nation have already comlpeted half of them. The end aint so optimistic!
So my thoughts are, like all other Empires, America too will get knocked off its top dog status on the world stage.
The Federal goverment , while losing its control over our society will do all it can to maintain its power/control over the people here. But it will be futile in the end. The Goverment is too bloated, too corrupt, too intellectually dishonest to do whats right, and as in the Warning and conclusion of Ron Paul this week we are heading for some very dismal times, socialy, economically, and politically.

Mr. Reid ypu might even try to get MR. Chittum on your show. I am not affiliated in any way with him I just respect his conclusions and think othesr could learn from his life expeirence.
