This is my response to an article published on LinkedIn from John Battelle. For the full context, please read his article here.
Now… For my reply:
I take it by your predictions, and subsequent self-grading replete with material omissions, half and distorted assertions, that you are not a fan of “America First”? Instead, Long Live The All-Knowing Global Elites?
It is apparent that you employ the shield of Liberal, but are in truth a Progressive. And there is a world of difference between the two. Many of your predictions were wishful thinking spawned of ideology rather than reality.
Your trumpeted scoring has it’s the foundation in that same one-sided worldview.
Just Five Examples:
1) “One of the most definitive rebukes of a sitting President”? Really? Clinton lost a net sixty senate/house seats in his mid term (1994): Obama lost a net 69 senate/house seats in 2010; Trump lost a net 37 senate/house seats in 2018, increasing his senate majority–the first time that has happened in a mid term since the 1940’s. (We will defer discussion regarding 3 senate contests, and 26 house contests were lost by Republicans due to voter fraud and blatant, corrupt Democratic election manipulation, including subsequent to close of polls);
2) Elizabeth Warren? Accountable Capitalism Act? Perhaps she should begin by returning grant/scholarship/
3) Journalism on the rebound? Laughing. one-sided
4) I am no huge fan of Amazon. However, Amazon more a target than any other tech outfit and on the ropes? Check
- Mar 2018 04/26/2018 3.27 1.22 168.03%
- Jun 2018 07/26/2018 5.07 2.49 103.61%
- Sep 2018 10/25/2018 5.75 3.29 74.77%
5) Finally,
But I would point out that your oblique reference to 65 million plus Americans being temporarily “rotten and corrupt” but now perhaps blissfully shaking the “fever” and on their way to “enlightenment” is exactly what I would I–and they –would expect from the lofty preening of an “enlightened”, elitist progressive.
And that, sir, is why Donald Trump is President–likely for six more years.
