There is a very big picture to this anti-gun hysteria so opportunistically being used by the left and heralded by much of the press. It has to do with globalism, socialism, power, the constitution, and the last line of defense for America and the world–the 130 million folks who own firearms in the US. Just ask the 56 million victims slaughtered by countless regimes in just the 20th century immediately after gun control, registration and disarmament of the public in those score of countries. There is much the anti-gun press is not sharing with you, from armed citizens stopping slaughters that otherwise would most certainly have occurred, to what the real un-skewed violent crime stats are from around the world in gun controlled vs heavily armed countries–and how the US compares….and then we have the ludicrous lie of the purported “deal” on the fiscal cliff. Ain’t no deal other than more taxes on YOU, starting with a thousand or more from your paychecks per year, beginning this week, plus a host of other “fiscal cliff” and Obamacare taxes that directly hit the middle and lower income earners while British rum manufacturers, and Goldman Sachs get support and tax breaks. And balanced? How about 4 TRILLION MORE spending per the CBO despite 1.2 trillion (half Obamacare, half fiscal cliff nonsense) in new tax–and it ain’t from the rich folks. Just what will it take for people to wake up to the wide chasm between the rhetorical promises vs the actions and reality of this government?

In his new book, At the Brink, economist and author John R. Lott Jr., assesses the presidency of Barack Obama and recalls conversations regarding gun laws they had while working at the University of Chicago.
In Chapter Three, Mr. Lott discusses gun-control and takes the reader back to his time at the University of Chicago, where he and then-professor Barack Obama spoke on numerous occasions about guns in America.
“I don’t believe people should be able to own guns,” Obama told Lott one day at the University of Chicago Law School.
Lott explains that he first met Obama shortly after completing his research on concealed handgun laws and crime.

One of the major gun-control efforts in Olympia this session calls for the sheriff to inspect the homes of assault-weapon owners. The bill’s backers say that was a mistake.
Forget police drones flying over your house. How about police coming inside, once a year, to have a look around?
As Orwellian as that sounds, it isn’t hypothetical. The notion of police home inspections was introduced in a bill last week in Olympia.
That it’s part of one of the major gun-control efforts pains me. It seemed in recent weeks lawmakers might be headed toward some common-sense regulation of gun sales. But then last week they went too far. By mistake, they claim. But still too far. (Read More)
Surveillance Camera Captures the Dramatic Moment a Security Guard Used an AR-15 to Fend Off Armed Holdup

Dramatic surveillance footage out of the Detroit area shows the heart-stopping moment when a gun-wielding couple stormed into a tax business and started shooting — and a security guard pulled out an AR-15 and drove them away.
The security guard suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the leg and the suspects got away, but otherwise no one was seriously injured in the shootout.
It happened Thursday at a converted home business in Inkster, Mich. A man and woman armed with handguns showed up at the door and announced a holdup, despite the security vehicle parked outside, WJBK-TV reported. The receptionist had gone up to greet them, with the business owner sitting in a chair in the corner. Surveillance footage shows the male suspect pointing a gun at the receptionist’s head, and the security guard scrambling in the back office for the rifle.
“The security guard that was inside returned fire, two shots at the suspect. Did not hit him. The suspects then fled the location,” Inkster, Mich. police Lt. Jeffrey Smith told WJBK. “There was quite a few people inside the location. Very lucky that nobody was seriously injured. The security guard did suffer a wound to the upper leg area, but he’s going to be okay.”
AR-15-style rifles have been at the center of the debate over gun control in the wake of the Newtown, Conn. elementary school massacre.
