A Mess? You Bet. It wasn’t the Bankers, it was DC

Washington DC loves to gloss over what led to the economic and financial meltdown of 2008, and what “our leaders” have done to exacerbate the problem since then. It started with Jimmy Carter, compounded under Clinton, early Obama, and attempts to avert the implosion were thwarted by Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and Maxine Waters. It was the Fed’s first attempt at massive wealth redistribution—via mortgages—and it failed miserably. You and I get to pay for it.
