This is Part 2 of Reid’s suggested common sense solutions to the problems facing America, your family and your future.  Simple, permanent, fixes that are sure to have you nodding in agreement and even the current morons in Washington could implement if they half tried.  International? Let’s keep our money at home and stop doing band-aids. Energy? Jobs, exports, revenues, security. And yes, alternative energy too. The Department of Defense? Get rid of the fat but don’t trust the muscle. Education? A dismal failure. Bye, Bye Department of Education. Hello, 70 Billion in savings and actually kids who actually learn something because of bonuses to teachers for an end product rather than a test score.  Natural disasters, terrorism, economic meltdown. Be prepared, and you don’t want to be the only one in the room without a gun.

In our modern society, we take so much for granted. We sit back on our couches, watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, and act as if we are informed regarding what’s going on in the world. Even when we watch legitimate news, we accept everything at face value. We no longer care to dig for information; to understand why things are the way they are. We take in what we are told by CNN, regurgitate, and repeat. Now, more than ever, we are blinded by the daily barrage of stories to the point that obvious factual inaccuracies don’t matter. For example: the number of times the IRS commissioner visited the Obama White House.
